While no one wishes to denigrate the importance of wisdom, Christians sometimes do so inadvertently by treating it as a gap-filler, as if wisdom kicks in only when there isn’t a clear rule or fact to solve a problem. This lecture argues that wisdom is not really about applying rules and facts, but is a holistic sense or perception of the divinely-established natural order. As such, wisdom must be a central feature of the entire moral life and of all intellectual endeavor.
