Spirituality is not just for patients. Practitioners need to cultivate their own spiritual lives in order to be efficacious healers. This presentation will tell the story of one internist’s experience of caring for one patient, and the spiritual lessons he learned. Free lunch will be provided.
Dan Sulmasy is a physician and professor at the University of Chicago, with joint appointments in the School of Medicine and the Divinity School. He’s the author of The Healer’s Calling: A Spirituality for Physicians and Other Health Care Professionals and The Rebirth of the Clinic: An Introduction to Spirituality in Healthcare.
